5th Annual ITC Writer’s Retreat
Tulum, Mexico | June 3-6, 2027
What Makes This Experience Different
For the first time, our annual writers retreat goes international, set against the lush backdrop of Tulum, Mexico. This isn’t just a change of scenery, it’s an intentional shift into a more immersive, restorative, and elevated creative experience. Designed specifically for BIPOC writers, this retreat is a space to step away from the noise, pressure, and uncertainty of the industry, and return to your voice.
This event is open to BIPOC writers of all levels. Space is extremely limited. Register now to save your spot.

Holistic Creative Support
We integrate meditation, breathwork, and movement to help you move through creative blocks, not just think your way around it. This isn’t a packed schedule designed to overwhelm you. We’ve intentionally structured free time to give you space to produce meaningful work.

This isn’t just where you’ll stay, it’s an integral part of the experience, intentionally chosen to support rest, inspiration, and deep creative work. Choose a private room upstairs for privacy, or a large shared suite downstairs to save money.

Kaaba Luum sits deep in the Tulum jungle — and yes, the jungle is very much alive around you. You may encounter insects, small lizards, the occasional spider, and the sounds of birds and creatures you may not be able to name. This is not a resort carved out of nature. It is nature, and you are a guest in it.
The resort staff keeps the spaces well-maintained and take care to minimize unwanted encounters. A few simple habits go a long way: shake out shoes left outside, use the provided mosquito repellent, keep doors closed at dusk, and sleep soundly knowing the wild is just outside, not inside.
