Learn how to craft hilarious sketches with a writer from the Emmy-nominated hit, A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW (HBO). During this two-hour workshop, instructor Shenovia Large will teach writing exercises to explore different sketch formats, methods for idea generation, and explain how to turn ideas into sketches. Students will leave the class with an understanding of the hidden structure within successful comedy sketches.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Shenovia ‘Novi’ Large is a writer-director, producer and performer. She has most recently written for season two of GRAND CREW (NBC). She previously wrote on season two and three of “ BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW (HBO). (HBO) and Yvonne Orji's sketch variety show, A WHOLE ME (HBO). She is an alumni of the NBC Late Night Writers Workshop and the Uprights Citizens Brigade. Shenovia is a creative producer and director for 'Ragged Edge', a live R&B comedy show in Los Angeles.
